Description

:new: NOW v5 COMPATIBLE! :new:

deviantFORUM - Mark Recent is a Firefox/Greasemonkey script that highlights the five most recent visible postings in a forum thread and tells you their chronological order. Handy in large threads with many subthreads.

Requires: Firefox and Greasemonkey

How to install and use it:
1) Install the Greasemonkey Extension and restart Firefox
2) Right-click the link below and choose "Install User Script" in the context menu. Alternatively, click the link and select "Tools -> Install User Script" in the menu bar.
3) Go to any Forum thread. The five most recent postings are highlighted with a blue bar and have a "...most recent (visible) comment" line in the header.

DOWNLOAD VERSION 1.1: [deviantFORUM - Mark Recent]

Version History:
v1.1 [Aug 8, 2006] - Now v5-compatible, added a classname to the SPAN element I insert - maybe this helps the skinning people...?
v1.01 [Sep 22, 2005] - Bugfix regarding sorting (Still available)
v1.0 [Aug 7, 2005] - Release (Still available)

Known Issues:
:bulletred: The new layout doesn't give an easy-pretty way of marking the new posts. I now coded it to color the "...most recent (visible) comment" line. Still catches your eye, just takes some getting used to (like most of v5 ;))
:bulletred: The root posting is not counted as a comment. While this is certainly a bug (and will most likely spawn a 1.11 version soon), it only happens in threads with less than 5 replies. And I sure hope you don't need to rely on this script for threads of that size ;)

Misc. Stuff:
This script was my small contribution for dA's 5th birthday. :)
...and it was updated just after the 6th birthday because of the layout change =P

Line 19. Do us a favor and check your xpath returns before doing anything to them. Or, use a better include.

Either way, on the thread page, you throw an exception error.
